A .700 PRUSSIAN PATTERN 1839 RIFLED MUSKET, SUHL CIRCA 1841, serial number D111, with 41 in. barrel rifled with four grooves, dated 1841 at breech and numbered D111, fitted with peep sight, the lock pitted overall with faint traces of the imperial crown over Suhl, full walnut stock the butt with raised cheekrest, brass mounts except for iron butt-plate, three spring retained barrel bands, originally made as a musket in 1841 and rifled on the Minie' principle in the 1850's, many of the arms were sold to the U.S.A. during the Civil War, the barrel to a brown patina, some light speckling, good sharp untouched stock
